Forest School sessions are for preschool children aged 2 - 5 (siblings under 1 come along for free. Siblings under 2 are half price). These sessions are held on Wednesdays in the Ocean Grove Nature Reserve. The aim of these sessions is to allow children to engage in child led play. Some structure will exist in the provision of crafts and campfire cooking activities but the hope is that children explore, discover, create connections with each other and the space and have plenty of opportunities for healthy risk taking.
We will have a different nature inspired activity each week with the aim of getting the kids (and adults) to appreciate our natural environment in a more creative way. Examples of activities include, sun prints, felt making, imprints in clay, painting with natural paintbrushes, collage, mandalas, handmade paint, bark painting, pinch pots and more.
Each session will finish with a (healthy) hot chocolate and some food cooked over the campfire, be it popcorn or a healthy veggie stew.
Places are limited to 10 children.
When : Wednesday 10th February - Wednesday 31st March 2021
Where: The Ocean Grove Nature Reserve
Please note: parents are required to stay and connect with their little people for this session.
Also, please note, there will be 8 sessions in total this term.
